Twilight is stealing
O'er hill and lea,
Vesper bells pealing
Call us to Thee.
Low at Thy mercy seat,
Father, Thy children meet;
Craving Thy guidance sweet,
Bend we the knee.

Lowly confessing
Trespass and shame,
Loudly expressing
Faith in Thy name.
Praising with one accord,
Hearing Thy Holy Word,
Here, let our service, Lord,
Be without blame.
