Then rose Plantagenet in Henry second.
First Richard, John, third Henry, Edwards three,
And second Richard in one line we see.
Fourth, fifth, and sixth Lancastrian Henrys reign;
Then Yorkist Edwards two, and Richard slain.
Next Tudor comes in seventh Henry's right,
Who the red rose engrafted on the white.
Eighth Henry, Edward sixth, first Mary, Bess;
Then Scottish Stuart's right the peers confess.
James, double Charles, a second James expelled;
With Mary, Will; then Anne the sceptre held.
Last, Brunswick's issue has two Georges given;
Late may the second pass from earth to heaven!
