SAMSON AND BARBARA .
I.
BARBARA .
From break of the morning, were I with my love,
I'd talk till the evening drew nigh;
And when the day did close
I'd sing him to repose,
And tune my love a lullaby.
II.
SAMSON .
From break of the morning, were I with my love,
Oh! long ere the evening drew nigh,
Her talk would make me doze
Till the music of my nose
Would play my love a lullaby.
III.
BARBARA .
Our children around us, I'd look on my love,
Each moment in rapture would fly.
SAMSON .
But love is apt to pall
When the brats begin to squall,
And a wife is screaming lullaby.
