Thou Lincolns Earle, in honours high advance,
Honourest those, on whom you cast a glance.

Enlarging vertues divers, manifold,
On you resplendant, and by fame inrol'd,
Plac't in your heart, and they have placed you
High above others, as it is your due,
In which estate you honour vertue so,
Let any judge herein, whether or no
Vertue or you is more advanc't thereby:
Sent by the Muses, though to you am I.

Finite to tell you, that all honour here
Indeed is, though it do not so appeare.
Now make the world then who your vertues know,
Ever demand, what, Puls be finite I be !
