Fresh mollusk morning
puts a foot out
from its bivalve
on the sea

and in a moment
the underwater
fairy palm blooms

and all the trout
and mussel
come to life

and wrasse and sturgeon
dart through the water
with their hungry heads.

What have I brought home
in the skin of the sea cucumber
that look like wheels and anchors
under the microscope?
