She sidled down the boulevard
With boy and man and beast.
Three flakes of snow encircled her
December's dome released.

The three hearts saw her home again —
The flakes had vanished quite —
But there she melted through the door
And locked the door tight.

The lad went home and wept awhile,
The man slept with his wife.
The brute turned down a lighted lane
And bought a better life.
