After Ireland joined the European Union's race
To be the economic marvel of the world, a spin
That soon saw Euros by the tens of billions pouring in.

And once the Catholic church no longer ruled, the birth rate fell;
So perhaps it's not the Euro that's made Ireland seem so regal,
But the laws of 1985, when they made Condoms legal.
