“Twittering bird, how little you know
The light that glows at the heart of things;
How much better if it were so
That you had vision and I had wings;
If I had more of the thrill of motion,
And you, the joy of a sun-drenched ocean.”

Thus thought I, but the bird, I trow,
Deemed me stupid, and told me so.
