Author
a complete earth
hard as stone
the size of a plum
Pompeian red,
darkened and faded
like an old Roman mural
from the bath house
of Menander,
golden brown
with delicate veins
as if the earth
had cracked with age
or we were looking
at the rivers
from a satellite.
