Dear Alexis juster be
To your faithful Heart and Me,
And give not way to Jealousy.

II.

Could my Heart, my Faith abuse,
Sure I'd something worthy chuse,
And not a Wretch whom all refuse.

III.

An Owl, a Dog, an Ass, a Bear,
Would more desirable appear,
Than this Object which you fear.

IV.

Alexis! well you know my Heart,
And know without Disguise or Art,
You reign sole Lord in ev'ry Part.

V.

How can you then so cruel be,
To torture one who Loves like me,
With Dreams of Infidelity!
