Sweet is the old record, sweet the loving thought—
God into contact with our sorrow brought;
Heaven's boundary over-stept.

Dogmas? Save this point, none;
That through the heart of man in saddest hour
Flashed the conviction that some deathless Power
Crossed swords with death—and won.
