Said to a Bird

What shall you do when the sun goes down?
Shake out your wing above the town.
Catch the redness of the west
Like a gladness against your breast;
Hold it like sorrow; this is done
To make you vibrant as the sun.
Offer yourself to space; a flake
Of darkened ether, you may wake
Breath in currents of long dead air.
And you shall be , and being there,
You will have shaped an instant to
The sleek mad contour that is you.
