Lines Written on a Lady of Dark Complexion, a Native of India

WRITTEN ON A LADY OF DARK COMPLEXION, A NATIVE OF INDIA .

What though her cheeks no lilies grace,
Her mind may still be fair;
Those charms, which Heav'n denied her face,
May all be center'd there!

The lily's whiteness soon is pass'd,
The rose's bloom will fade;
But her attractions long must last,
Whose mind's without a shade!
