Parting from Yang, a Hill Man Who Is Returning to the High Mountain

BY LI T'AI-PO

There is one place which is an ever-lasting home to me:
The Jade Woman Peak on the High Southern Mountain.
Often, a wide, flat moonlight
Hangs upon the pines of the whirling Eastern stream.
You are going to pick the fairy grasses
And the shooting purple flower of the ch'ang p'u .

After a year, perhaps, you will come to see me
Riding down from the green-blue Heaven on a white dragon.
