The Little Garden

She has of earth one little plot,
'Tis six feet long and three feet wide,
And pansies and forget-me-not
Grow side by side.

Sometimes she waters it with tears,
Sometimes smiles o'er it like a sun;
Watches and waits till bloom appears
When Winter's done.

One little seedling never shows;
She smiles, and waits for the white bloom;
She smiles, and thinks of One who rose
When Spring was come.
