The Old Man

At first the hair
grew thicker on his chest
and stomach,

then gray appeared
along the right side

and one day
in the mirror
he saw a gray bush
in his nostrils

and took his teeth out
from the water glass
and cut himself
a little sausage.

As a boy
he had been in a hurry
