The Ordinary Dog

When brother takes me walking
I cry, " Oh, hip, hooray! "
We're sure to see the jolly pup
That joins us every day!

His ears are raggy-shaggy;
His coat's a dusty brown;
He meets me like a cannon ball
And nearly knocks me down.

He tells me all his secrets,
With joyful jumping-up.
I wish the pompous Pekinese
Could know the Jolly Pup!
