The Search

I've searched in every place that I can think of,
Ransacking the whole house, floor after floor,
Till, now I've looked so long, I've nigh forgotten
What I was looking for.

I've climbed up from the basement to the attic;
And, as I pause for breath outside the door,
I'm wondering if I'll find, when it swings open,
Something worth looking for.
